Habitat For Humanity Wake County

Help us support Habitat For Humanity of Wake County!

Habitat For Humanity of Wake County builder 20-30 homes every year through their volunteer programs designed to help create affordable housing. Grist Realty is helping with their efforts this year by supporting their Baffle Project— a simple thing that makes a big difference in our community.

What are baffles and why are they important?

Baffles are installed in the interior of homes between the roof line/eaves overhang and outside wall soffit. They help hold attic insulation in place to make homes more energy efficient by keeping the house cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. They can be made of cardboard, metal, foam or plastic— we will be making them out of cardboard. Habitat house plans require 55 baffles cut to a specific size and shape.
